In the garden on the East side of the WhistleStop Coffee Shop this Giraffe grazes happily on the high bushes near outdoor picnic tables
The Whistle Stop giraffe has been joined by a lovely working elephant now standing on the Northeast corner at the blinker light intersection of CR137 and C-10A

This elephant is named "Ellie". She is not quite life size but she stands taller than your blogger.
She is a whimsical addition to center city Wellborn. Bonnie Scott (Scotts Country Depot on Northwest corner at blinker light)says "I love Ellie elephant."
Ellie balances a sign with her raised trunk. It proclaims the WhistleStop specialty of the day. On Ellie's broad sides she has allowed artist Cathy Willson to paint an American Flag with large letters "VOTE" added.
George Ash explains he does walls and elephants only. He chose the color elephant gray, not red or blue, or even pink because she is a Patriotic Elephant, non partisan. Ellie invites us to inform ourselves and then VOTE. No stay at home citizens this time around.
Ellie was discovered and purchased from an antique dealer fifteen years ago to be part of Jungle decor at a restaurant in Frederick Maryland. Relocating Ellie has been easier than your blogger imagined because she is made of fiberglass, not concrete!

The foursone were kitchen crew at the W. C. A. September blueberry pancake breakfast on Labor day weekend: Myrtle Principatio and her sister Pearl, Maso Martin and Kathy Snowden. Wendell Snowden did the welcome thing, Chris Williams exchanged our dollars for breakfast tickets.
Turnout was very good, so much so that Kathy went to the freezer to replenish sausages. Allene Touchton and Ruth Leister are two regulars returning. Ruth says one pancake fills her 85 lb body up. "I dont eat much but we really miss coming when we cant make it". She is the driver, @ 90 years. and not about to stop counting years or driving either!. Allene, in the top half of her 80's, rejoices to be back in her own home in McAlpin after a sick spell which required her to make home with one of her children temporarily. Allene just finished still another quilt "for my newest great grandbaby".
