Wellborn's hometown blogger missed the Wellborn Community Association Christmas Party for our local children. There are excellent fotos of a successful party at www.WellbornCommunityAssociation.com.
December 16, 2011 one of Wellborn's longtime residents departed this life. L'Erna Gertrude Parrish was born November 26, 1915. 96 years! Two granddaughters represented her family. Rev. Lewis Gooch spoke the words of faith and comfort at her graveside service in Mt. Beulah Baptist cemetery. Jesus; Savior and Immanuel (God with us) the Christmas story, is also words to speak at a graveside service. Dwight Law remembered Mrs Parrish as a young woman everyone enjoyed in her role as helper in Parrish's store here. I remembered Dolly Perkins and Mrs Parrish's friendship when her strengths began to wane. I am grateful to claim her as a friend of mine.
