Power Country Truck was seen and heard at the Voter Education Meet hosted by WNW and WCA. Crowds came, listened, and stayed for questions and answers. Clerk of the Court Barry Baker gave the invocation followed by the pledge to our country's flag. At the speakers table were M.C. Russell Smith with time keeper Betty Barnes (out of the camera range). Two candidates for the County Judge were (L to R) Gary Brown and Lin Williams, candidates for State Representative for District 11 Elizabeth Porter and representing Debbie Boyd was Chris Lipson, then Mary Maxwell representing Billie Maxwell, current District 4 County Commissioner, and Phil Oxendine who also wants District 4 seat on the County Commission. Each candidate (or representative) presented themselves and their agendas. In addition Jerry Taylor of the Suwannee County School Board explained the two amendments connected with school finances and class size difficulty with current legislation. There were also explanations and a fine printout with websites recommended for further study on the amendments. We voters are indebted to the two civic organizations in our hometown for a VERY SUCCESSFUL HELPFUL EDUCATIONAL MEETING last night.
