Naomi Dennard celebrated her 105th birthday and she said "This is the best birthday I've ever been to" and then she asked "Is everyone having a good time?" Miss Naomi was a Mallory whose parents were Ralph and Ruby M. Her siblings were Clay and Gladys. Both Gladys and Naomi taught school in Wellborn. The Mallory home was a showplace on CR 137 located between the railroad crossing and the Wellborn United Methodist Church where the Mallorys worshipped and supported. Ralph was a Wellborn postmaster and a CSX flagman at the Wellborn train station. Naomi's husband Bernice's family lived where the All Spring Vet is now. After his military service,. his job had them moving to Cairo Georgia where she continued to teach school. As a widow she moved back and into Advent Christian Village where she is a favorite person to this day. 2003 she moved to Dacier Manor and that is where family, friends and staff shared her special birthday one more time.
She is pictured here with her niece Emily Robarts when Ms Naomi was the Queen of the Wellborn United Methodist 150th celebration in 2007.
