Bill Brothers is Director of Human Resources for the Suwannee County School System. School Board Superintendent Jerry Scarborough was unable to keep his scheduled date with Wellborn Neighborhood Watch.
A mutual respect and admiration exists between these two public servants. Both men care deeply concerned about educating our children.
Much of Bill's time is involved with hiring and firing teachers. (12 new teachers this year.) His check on academic & personal qualifications (background checks) extends to anyone doing business with Suwannee County Schools. He holds a doctorate and his local experience includes Vocational Agricultre teacher and County Extension Agent (4H).
"We are looking for what we can do to make our schools The Best possible! , Bill said, and he added "The recent "B" rating is good but we want an "A"."
Our school system is operating on a lean budget. We appreciate the stimulus money. There are state and federal mandates to meet.
A deplorable dropout statistic is 68%. Suwannee County School System is The Worst school system in the state for dropouts.
The check point is 12th grade. Analysis and remedies are on going.
Bruce Campbell asked "What is the Biggest Challenge"
The answer was " We need parent & community involvement . We are in education together".
