EASTER MORNING after the lovely Sonrise Service in Wellborn Community Park travelers on CR 137 expect to see the wonder of Christ's resurrection expressed outside and inside the Wellborn Methodist Church.
The outdoor cross was made for the Methodist Church here in 1987, at Pastor Cheryl Pingel's suggestion to Tim Duval. For a long time it was erected in front of the church, only during the church season of Lent (40 days before Easter).
During David Smith's Youth Ministry at Wellborn Methodist Church, WHY the cross was/is necessary was dramatized when several youth dragged it from storage to put it up in front of the church sanctuary.
It became a permanent reminder in front of the church about 15 years ago.
Inside the sanctuary Geiger greenhouse glory enhances all high and holy celebrations and each time seems more beautiful than the last one. See the Bridge to the Cross (center of God's altar) here. Broken chards were written upon with names and heart's concerns and glued to the cross in faith and thanksgiving. ! ALELUIA !
