DAISY PEARL ANTHONY July 31, 1939 - August 17, 2008
Daisy lived all 69 years plus 17 days in our hometown. She worked 27 years at Hillendale Egg Farm, retiring because of health reasons. When she was housebound it did not preclude her interest and concern for us all. Daisy Anthony was a vital part of the Prayer Chain work at Wellborn Baptist and welcomed the Bible Study material and visitors from her church.
She accepted with pleasure the telephone recruiter assignment when cakes were needed for the Wellborn Community Association and /or the Wellborn Neighborhood Watch. People loved her back and wanted to get her a motorized wheelchair of some sort and they did . I met her sister Deloris Gear of Lake City when the community was fund raising for our Daisy's chair. People loved to stop at Daisy's home on Railroad street, sometimes to work on the ongoing jigsaws always in progress there, and always to hear what's news around town. Daisy had a heart for young ones who were just starting with life's adult responsibility. Her home was a port in a storm more than once and it was good to see many young ones comforting eachother at her funeral. Daisy's final travail included too many days of excruciating pain. We can only rejoice with Daisy and the angels who now sing praises with her in the heavenlies. " The strife is o'er, the battle won !" Allelulia!
