These two photos could be named "From The Sublime to the Ridiculous"
Sunday gave us a most unusual combination of things to celebrate: Pentecost (50 day after Easter) and Mothers Day (second Sunday in May)
Sunday morning many worshippers and the Wellborn Methodist altar, itself, wore red signifying the Holy Spirit flame which warms our hearts, comforts and enlightens us who are so grateful to know and worship a triune God. In Sunday school a huge and noisy fan helped us to remember how the Spirit came to the bewildered and waiting disciples ( Acts 4:31) Maurice Geiger had transported his yellow and cream orchid plants plus background greens and bromeliads from Geiger greenhouse to the church. He and Ann put it all together. Sublime, indeed!
Mothers Day afternoon The Woman's Club of Live Oak and the Live Oak Artist Guild (LOAG) presented a comedy/mystery "Death and Taxes" . Bonnie Scott made her first appearance with the Live Oak Community Theatre "Live On Stage". She and her husband, George, own Scott's Blueberry Farm. Bonnie edits the "Wellborn Whisper". She is a substitute pianist at Wellborn Methodist, a volunteer at Haven Hospice and is active at the Wellborn Community Association. She thanks her husband for tolerating "Cora" during rehearsal weeks.
Our stylish petite, intelligent and personable Bonnie played the part of a frumpy, nosey, simple soul. Although the photo is blurry, please enjoy Bonnie expressing her Cora personality for the camera. Great fun all around.
Moms were presented with carnations after the show.
Happy Mothers Day, indeed.
